Tour Details

Explore deep inside Chichén Itzá to visit a recently restored area called Old Chichén or The Initial Series.  

Archaeologists uncovered several residential complexes such as the owl house, the monkey house, the moon house, the turtle platform, as well as several ceremonial temples.  

Get to know the beginnings of the great civilization of Chichén Itzá within this area that was only recently opened to the public. 

Afterwards, we’ll visit Chichén Itzá’s main square with the Kukulcán temple, the warriors temple, the biggest ballgame court in Mesoamerica, the Venus platform of the skulls and the sacred cenote. 

This tour will make for a memorable experience, offering a full immersion into this new Wonder of the World.  It’s ideal for those travelers looking for a more in depth knowledge and understanding of the Maya culture.  

Lunch is served at Hacienda Selva Maya.  Enjoy a buffet style display of typical Yucatecan dishes, such as the famous “sopa de lima”, “Pocchuk” and “cochinita pibil”.  

We’ll end the day with a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters of a natural cenote. 

Itinerary

• 7 a.m. pick up from your hotel/villa
• 2 ½ hour trip to Chichén Itzá (may vary depending on your hotel’s location)
• 1 hour guided tour in Old Chichén a.k.a. The Initial Series
• 1 ½ hour at Chichén Itzá´s square
• 30 minute drive to Selva Maya
• Time to swim in the cenote 
• Buffet style lunch 
• Leave at approx. 4 p.m. to your hotel/villa

This tour only takes place on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
