Tour Details

The village of Tres Reyes (three kings) welcomes you with an ancestral ceremonial ritual, giving thanks to the jungle, the earth and to the visitors (YOU).

Doña Lucy invites you into her home to share her recipes and prepare a meal together. You will be amazed and learn to prepare the traditional cochinita pibil and handmade tortillas.  

Feast on some freshly made chayitas and savory sikilpak (a tomato sauce with pumpkin seeds) before you help with the firewood to prepare the pib. Once that’s done, you’ll return to the kitchen to make the sauce to marinate the cochinita.  

While we leave the meat cooking in the underground firepit, off we go to Cobá!  We’ll grab a bike to explore the jungle setting of the archaeological site, admire the stelas, the ballgame courts and the highest pyramid of the Yucatán.  

Back in the village of Tres Reyes you’ll delight your palate on the homemade cochinita pibil.  The highlight of your Maya experience and the perfect way to celebrate your visit to the ancient and modern Maya world!

Itinerary

• 7 a.m. pick up from your hotel/villa
• 1 ½ hour drive to the village of Tres Reyes
• Beginning of activities in the Maya village and Maya ceremony 
• 30 minute drive to Cobá
• 1 ½ hour guided visit of Cobá
• Return to Tres Reyes for lunch
• 5 p.m. departure to your hotel/villa
